The project ended in failure, and the Gouf was instead designed to use the Dodai YS bomber as a makeshift flying platform. Now, near the end of the war, the Gouf Flight Type has at last become a reality. Equipped with thermonuclear jet engines in its legs, aerial maneuvering fins on its torso, and the same "gatling shield" as the Gouf Custom, this airborne mobile suit combines firepower and unrivaled mobility. Two of these experimental mobile suits appear during the Federation's assault on the secret development base.
