Yuri, an old acquaintance of

Aina Saharin,
is the commander of a
Zeon
military division in Europe. Though he appears gruff and ill-mannered, Yuri is an honorable soldier who is dedicated to the well-being of the men under his command. After the
Odessa
base falls to the
Federation,
Yuri leads his fleeing soldiers east towards Ginias's development base, hoping to use it as an escape route back to space.
