Londenion
The Londo Bell arrive at Londenion, giving the weary soldiers an opportunity for rest and relaxation. Meanwhile, Char and his Neo Zeon officials have secretly arrived at Londenion to conduct negotiations with the Earth Federation. Confident that they can buy Char off, Adenauer Paraya and his fellow bureaucrats agree to give him control of the asteroid Axis in exchange for the disarmament of the Neo Zeon fleet. After the secret meeting, Amuro encounters Char in the colony's landscaped fields, but Quess intervenes and ends up escaping with the Neo Zeon leader.

Luna II
Char returns to Sweetwater, and dispatches the Neo Zeon fleet to perform its formal surrender at the Federation's Luna II base. But this surrender is in fact a trick, and the Neo Zeon fleet instead launches a savage attack on Luna II, wiping out the Federation fleet and seizing the base's cache of nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Char has kept part of his fleet at Sweetwater, which he now leads to Axis to seize control of the asteroid... and then send it falling towards Earth.

Axis
Too late, the Londo Bell realize Char's deception and set off for Axis, hoping that they can defeat Char's force before the main Neo Zeon fleet returns from Luna II. Despite their efforts, the Londo Bell are unable to break through the enemy's defenses, and they're forced to retreat as the entire Neo Zeon fleet gathers around the descending asteroid. Now the warriors prepare for the final battle - Quess fighting for Char, Hathaway hoping to save her, and Amuro and Char readying themselves for a duel whose outcome will determine the fate of all humanity...
