Gundam's Universal Century saga takes place in the Earth sphere, a region of space which encompasses Earth, the moon, and the orbiting space colonies. These colonies are grouped into seven colony clusters called Sides, which rotate around five areas of gravitational stability known as Lagrange points.

The maps below show the locations of the five Lagrange points and the routes that spacecraft use to travel to these areas from Earth orbit. Since the numeric designations of the Sides are changed in the year U.C. 0084, we have provided two versions of the map to reflect the old and new arrangements of the Earth sphere.
