Anticipating a fierce struggle in the last stages of this campaign, the Federation produces an improved version of the standard RGM-79 GM in order to gather data for a next-generation mass production type. The result is the GM Command, equipped with a more powerful generator and redesigned armor. Most of these machines are stationed away from the main battlefield, at out-of-the-way locations like the neutral space colonies of Side 6.
