Near the end of the One Year War, the Earth Federation at last fields its own mass-produced mobile suit, the RGM-79 GM. This basic model is adapted into numerous variations, among them the RGM-79D, which has been modified for use in cold climates. Aside from its weatherproofing this type is largely unchanged from the standard GM, and when the Cyclops Team attack a Federation base in the arctic circle, it proves to be no match for Zeon's state-of-the-art amphibious mobile suits.
